I love their mission statement! Here it is from their website:
We believe that kicking ass is best done in pretty shoes. We’ve learned that real women sweat, and sweat hard. We know that assertiveness, strength, and ambition are the ultimate feminine qualities. We concede that sometimes it takes hours to get ready, but we’re also no strangers to just rolling out of bed and going. We’re convinced that we run faster in pink shoelaces. We believe in pushing ourselves, and we believe in giving ourselves a break, too. We’re all about the rush of endorphins and the thrill of the challenge. We’re all for looking great and feeling even better. We’re committed to finding our best fit, and making it stick.
We sweat pink.
It's awesome that I am now a part of this group. I really hope to inspire others.
In other news, I didn't get a chance to post yesterday as we went to the Phillies vs. Blue Jays game in Philly yesterday. We had won the tickets in the raffle at the Big Red Run 5K, and the kiddos had a blast! Their favorite part was batting practice as they both were thrown baseballs from Philly players. Here's a pic of them with their baseballs.
As to my half marathon training for next month's Rock and Roll half marathon.
Here's my schedule taken from Hal Higdon's Intermediate Training program.
Monday: Stretch & Strengthen (rest day for me)
Tuesday: 4 miles
I actually ran for 40 minutes and did a little over 4 miles but I felt strong.
Wednesday: 7x400 5K pace
Thursday: 3 mile run plus strength
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 3 mile pace
Sunday: 8 mile run
This schedule will definitely be tweaked as this weekend we will be heading to Ricketts Glenn to go camping! It's going to be fun! I just hope the weather will be ok.
