This week's topic is "What are your Top Healthy Living Tools?".
Here are my top 5 tools in no particular order that help me stay healthy and fit:
1. My Fitbit- I have already written a couple of times about my Fitbit here and here. It definitely helps motivate me to move and I really like seeing the numbers at the end of the day. My daily goal is 10,000 steps a day which is equivalent to about 4-5 miles. It can be a challenge when it is a day that I don't run but I've found that I don't mind parking further now, just to get those extra steps in. Or when I take the kiddos outside, I try to get them to go for a fun walk or play tag to get the steps in. I've also noticed that I miss it when I forget it. Or even worse when, my Fitbit stopped syncing and I had to wait for a new one to ship to me (thanks to Fitbit's great customer service they sent me a replacement free of charge) but I still felt like something was missing while waiting for the replacement. I am that attached to this device. :p

2. My Garmin GPS watch & Runkeeper - Running is my go to sport. I love it! I really like having my Garmin watch when I run. I like seeing my pace and knowing how far I have run. My Garmin is a lot more accurate than my Fitbit. You can call me crazy, but I also use RunKeeper at the same time when I run. I use it mainly because I like to hear the pace I am going while running and it even interrupts your music to tell you your pace and distance. It is really nice to not have to look down at your watch all the time.
3. The Seven App - I have also talked about the Seven app here. I really like this app because you can do this workout anywhere and it is only 7 minutes. The workout is a High Intensive Interval Training (HIIT) type of workout that consists of 12 exercises. It's great for days when you didn't fit a workout in. Also, I like how if you do the App consecutively as in every second month you stay in the 7 month challenge you unlock a new random workout. I have yet to do this but I think it would be great to keep at it and unlock the next workout.
4. Myfitnesspal app - This is a great app for when you want to watch what you eat. It's great for seeing all the calories you have consumed in a day. What is awesome about this App is it is real easy to track what you eat because it has the largest food database. Any food you type in, is most likely in their system. If it isn't, you can just scan the bar code of the food item and the info will pop up. It's an awesome App if you are counting calories and wanting to lose weight. I haven't been using it as much lately when training for my half marathons, but I will most likely use it once I take a little break from running in December. This is a great App for keeping you on target if you are looking to eat a certain number of calories a day.
5. Workout DVDs - I love my home workout DVDs T25 and PiYO! They are awesome workouts that you can do at the comfort of your own home. They leave me in a good sweat and are great cross training to go with running! I especially love T25 because the workouts are only 25 minutes.
