My Five Favorite Fitness Accomplishments

It's Tuesday and I am linking up with hosts Jessica Joy and Jill Conyers for their The Fit Dish Link-Up every Tuesday.

Today' s topic is "Your Favorite Fitness Accomplishments." This is a good one as it made me think about all the things that I have done fitness-wise throughout the years until now. There has been lots of things that I have accomplished and it is pretty fun reminiscing
Here are my top 5 favorite fitness accomplishments to date:

1) Going to the State Track meet in High School for the triple jump and getting the school record. This one was years and years ago but I remember it being a very big deal for me. I remember being intimidated at the State Track meet because these were the top jumpers in the state. I ended up getting 10th and was happy I got to participate. :) The pic below was the best one I found from High School of me jumping. I think this one may actually be of me long jumping. :p
2) My first Half Marathon and then going back a year later and getting my goal time of under 2 hours! My first half marathon was the Seattle Half marathon back in 2005. I did it with a bunch of friends and it was so much fun. I finished in 2:20:03. I had so much fun that I did two more half marathons after that one and then went back with a goal of under 2 hours for the Seattle Half in 2006. This time I ran with soon to be Hubby and he helped me reach my goal! We finished in 1:59:41. It was an amazing experience for me. This half marathon taught me that hard work and training definitely pays off.
3) Summiting Mt. Rainier is the most difficult thing I have ever done. You can read about the whole climb here in a TBT hiking post I did a while back. It was probably the most difficult because it spanned 3 days and on the second day we had to try and sleep at 5pm to get up around 11pm to gear up and started heading up at 12:30am to summit. It was a hard climb but definitely worth it. It was amazing to reach the top. It is always so cool when we got back to Seattle and see Mt. Rainier, it is sometimes hard to believe we were up there!
4) Running the Nike Women's San Francisco Half Marathon 4 months after having my first child. It's a funny story because some friends and I had been trying to get into the San Francisco Nike Woman's Half Marathon by lottery the last couple of years and when we signed up for the lottery again, I was not expecting to actually get in. Turns out we did get in and it was a great motivator for me to get back into shape after having my first child as during the pregnancy I gained 40lbs. Once I was allowed back to run, I ran and trained. I lost most of my pregnancy weight by the time of the run and ran the half in 2:16:32. I was very happy with the finish! I felt really good and was on my way back to being fit.
5) PR's in the last 5 races of this year. I started 2014 stronger than ever. With good training and sticking to workouts, I managed to PR in the last 5 races I ran this year (different distances of course) but I ran my best each time and it is so great to see that I am improving! I feel like I am in the best shape of my life right now.
With all of these, training, hard work and determination have helped. Just doing your best helps accomplish great things. Those are my top 5, what is one of your favorite fitness accomplishments?
