As a Sweatpink Ambassador I was given the opportunity to try MealEnders free of charge through Fit Approach. All opinions are my own.
I was pretty excited when I got MealEnders to review for the blog. I received them in the mail right about the time I made my 4 year old's Oreo ice cream cake, so it was perfect timing in regards to trying them out. I am a huge fan of sweets and this would be the test to see if it could help me resist eating the rest of the ice cream cake.
The product (from their literature)
What are MealEnders?
They are signaling lozenges that help you avoid overeating and master portion control by clearing cravings from the mouth and mind. They consist of two components: a sweet outer reward layer and a cooling tingling center. The outer layer provides a measured dose of "dessert," a signal typically associated with the end of a meal. The center engages the nerve that senses "taste" sensations to cue the end of eating and clear the palate.
Each signaling lozenge contains only 2 grams of sugar and 15 calories.
The above picture is what they look like. I received four different flavors. The flavors I got to try were citrus, cinnamon, chocolate mint, and mocha. The texture of the outside layer sorta reminds me of a yogurt covered raisin. This is the sweet layer and I enjoyed this part the most. The center layer is hard and I could definitely taste the tingling center more so in the citrus and cinnamon flavors. While I did not taste the tingling so much in the chocolate mint and mocha flavors they still seemed to work it's magic. When using them, don't bite as they want you to savor the MealEnders lozenge and allow it to completely dissolve.
I'm not sure what it is, but they do seem to help me stop eating. When Hubby is snacking at night (this is where I tend to eat something when I shouldn't be) I have been popping a MealEnders in my mouth and I no longer have a craving to eat something too. This tells me that I'm actually not hungry but just needed a little something and the MealEnders is perfect for these occasions. As to the Oreo ice cream cake, it has also deterred me from eating a lot of the cake. Hubby ate a majority of it, but I did let myself indulge in a piece over the weekends. :)
I am also enjoying using these after dinner to replace a dessert along with when Hubby is snacking. My favorite flavors are chocolate mint and mocha. These are worth checking out if you have problems overeating or want to stop eating so many sweets. If you want to try MealEnders, they are providing one lucky reader 4 packs (one of each flavor).
