Thursday 5/21 - 2 mile run
Friday 5/22 - 2 mile walk with my 4 year old.
Saturday 5/23 - Rest
Sunday 5/24 - Boston Run To Remember Half Marathon. Recap will be on the blog later this week.
I'm pretty happy with how my half marathon went yesterday and am pleased with my time. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do now since my next race won't be until October. I guess it will be nice to not have to follow any type of schedule, although I may start up T25 again and actually follow that schedule. :p We'll see.
As to the weekend, Saturday started out driving up to Boston. We left around 7:30am and got into Boston around noon. The expo for the race was at the Seaport World Trade Center so we got lunch close to the expo. We ended up at the Yankee Lobster Company and had some delicious Lobster Rolls.
We're so glad we got there when we did because soon afterwards, they weren't letting anyone in and a line quickly formed outside and they let people in as people inside left. After lunch we headed to the expo. More on the expo will be in my race recap.
The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring Copley Square, checking out the Boston Public Library, and checking out the Boston Public Garden and Boston Common.
On Sunday, after the run we headed back to the Public Garden and rode the Swan Boats. It was a nice ride!
We then got some lunch in Chinatown, some sushi and bubble tea at Avana Sushi. Let's just say the sushi was ok but the bubble tea was yummy. After lunch we walked along some of the Rose Kennedy Greenway which is a pretty neat park area in the City. The pic below is a part where kids can play in the fountain water area. The kiddos loved this part and wanted to stay here long!
We also walked up to the Long Wharf Ferry that we took to the Navy Yard. It's probably the cheapest way to get a nice view of Boston on boat!
From the Navy Yard, we followed the Freedom Trail past the USS Constitution (tour is closed until June 9th) Old North Church, Paul Revere's House, Faneuil Hall, and Old State house (site of the Boston Massacre) just to name a few.
It was a lot of walking for me on Sunday especially after running the half marathon in the morning. I ended up with 50,000 steps on my fitbit for the day!
