I'd say this was an ok week of runs and workouts. I did sign up for another race in the fall and it will be a fun one. I can't wait. I'll be running the Beat The Blerch Half Marathon in Morristown, NJ on September 26th. If you have heard of the Oatmeal and know of Mathew Inman's comics it should be interesting. The site says there will be cupcakes, nutella, and a magical grape beverage at every aid station! :) This is going to be so much fun and a bunch of ladies from my MRTT group will be running as well.
As to the weekend, Saturday morning started out with a 6 miler before we headed out to Rickett's Glen State Park to go camping.
The drive from Princeton is about 3 hours. We left after lunch and got there around 4pm. Hubby set up camp while the kiddos and I explored. We got a pretty cool site that was by the lake, well a dried up lake. Here's my 4 year old on the dried up lake. We found lots of snails and even spotted a lizard or salamander.
Our campsite.
It was pretty cool because we met up with some friends there and the kiddos had a blast playing with their friend.
We had the usual campfire and S'mores. Camping isn't complete without them in our family!
On Sunday, we hiked the Falls Trail in the park. It's an amazing hike with 21 waterfalls on the trail. I'll have a blog post up soon!
It was another night of hanging out with friends, s'mores and a campfire. Such a great time!
I haven't had a S'more in so long, that needs to change before summer ends:). You had some gorgeous running scenery, and I bet all of those waterfalls were amazing! Cute picture of your kids and you doing T25 haha they look like they love it!
ReplyDeleteThe camping looks fun! The dried up lake makes me sad, though. I would definitely like the hike with the waterfalls. Beat the Blerch should be a blast!
ReplyDeleteYou always run on such pretty trails, I need to find similar places to run in my part of NJ.... I'm also doing Beat the Blerch, except I'm only running the 10k this time around. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hailey!! Yes, the Falls trail was pretty amazing! 21 waterfalls all along the trail, so after one, you come across another. It's the best! As to T25 the kiddos do enjoy following along at times! :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Oh no worries on the lake, it's a man made lake and they are doing something with it (restructuring and something with the dam nearby) but I believe they will fill it back up and it will be back to normal in the future. Yes, can't wait for Beat the Blerch! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Janine!! Yes, when I moved here from the West Coast I was pretty surprised of the cool trails here! Awesome you are doing Beat the Blerch too! It should be fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Beat the Blerch will be so freaking fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous you will be doing Beat the Blerch!! Sounds like an awesome weekend. I agree, it's nice to not have service for a little bit sometimes :)
