Monday 9/21 - 5 mile run.
Tuesday 9/22 - 45 minute tempo run with friends. I had never done a tempo run with friends so it was great to get that push you need when you run with someone that is faster.
Wednesday 9/23 - 3 mile run and BOSU total body workout.
Thursday 9/24 - running rest day, got in quick BOSU workout, and walked 1.8 miles while 4 year old had his soccer practice.
Friday 9/25 - 5 mile run at race pace. Ran the Run Mommy Run Virtual race and knowing it was a race, I think made me run faster. This has got to be the fastest 5 miles I've ran in a while.
Saturday 9/26 - Beat the Blerch Half Marathon
Sunday 9/25 - Hike with the Fam
Another decent week of training in the books. I loved the tempo run on Tuesday with friends. It totally pushed me and that's what made it great! The cross training I got in this week were BOSU workouts, which I am loving. Speaking of BOSU, in case you missed yesterday's post, I shared my 5 fave stretches and tips on toning your legs. You can also check out this week's #BOSUStrong challenge prompts, find it all here. I'm pretty happy with my running workouts last week. We'll see how this week goes as we'll be heading back to CA to check out some things before we move (schools, rental properties, etc.) on Thursday. Can't believe we will be moving mid-November! Anyway, I will need to get a long run in on Saturday, and hoping I won't be too tired or busy to do it.
As to the weekend, Saturday morning started out with the Beat the Blerch Half Marathon. It was a tough trail run, but fun nonetheless. I treated it as a training run and it was definitely a great practice for hills! I hope to have the recap up this week.
After the run, I managed to get back in time for 6 year old's soccer game (missed 4 year old's game earlier in the morning).
Later, we headed to watch the Princeton football game. They had a sports clinic for kids before the game, so the kiddos participated in that. They did it last year and I also wrote a post about it here. It was pretty much the same as last year, where college student athletes help introduce sports to kids in a fun way. 4 year old loves hockey so he stayed at that station, while 6 year old hung out at the basketball station.
There were inflatables that the kids had fun on before the game.
Then we watched the football game. We didn't stay for the whole game, but Princeton won 52-26.
On Sunday, we headed out to Vernon Township for a hike on the Stairway to Heaven trail up to Pinwheel Vista. We also did a short portion of the boardwalk of the Appalachian Trail to a suspension bridge. It was an awesome day for a hike! Recap of our hike will be up on the blog hopefully this week too!
That sums up my week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
