This was my last week of training leading up to the Brooklyn Rock n Roll half marathon. The week of taper went well. I'm very happy with how things went for the half on Saturday. :) Here's a recap of last week's workouts up to the Half Marathon:
Monday 10/5 - 4 mile run
Tuesday 10/6 - 30 minute tempo run
Wednesday 10/7 - 2 mile run
Thursday 10/8 - rest
Friday 10/9 - rest
Saturday 10/10 - Brooklyn Rock n Roll Half Marathon. This was my unofficial time. Official was 1:54:05. Very happy with the run and I was 5 seconds off of a PR. Look for the race recap this week!
Sunday 10/11 - rest
As to the weekend, on Friday I went to the Brooklyn RnR Expo with some friends. It was smaller than I expected but we still had fun taking some pics. More details of the expo will be in the race recap.
Saturday, was the big race. It was perfect running weather. Logistic wise it was a mess but the run itself was great. Again look for my recap coming soon!
After the run, since I was already missing the kiddos soccer games, I went to lunch with my friend Minyee at a Japanese restaurant and I had their yummy lunch bento box that hit the spot after such a great run. The rest of the day was spent resting and lounging at home.
Saturday, 4 year old had a friend's birthday party at Terhune Orchards. Such a fun place to have a birthday party. Perfect place since it is fall and it was great because we got to do a lot of the things we would have done and also celebrate his friends bday all in the same day.
They got to feed some of the animals.
They went on a wagon ride.
They got to pick pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.
They also had fun in the corn maze.
After the party and enjoying Terhune Orchards, we spent the rest of the day watching football and relaxing. I even got in a nice nap! :)
That sums up my week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
Great photo's!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on your PR, when I saw that on IG I was thrilled for you!
Also, loving that photo on your Monday run, I would so love to run that trail!
On a side note, did you switch from Disqus back to blogger? I am still in my trying it out phase, but if there is something about it that I don't know, I'd love you to share!
