Not a bad week of running! It was nice to get more mileage this week. However, I have to get up real early if I want to get a good run and I'm not going to lie, it can be a struggle for me to get out of bed at 6am. I am ok once I get up and run and I do feel amazing afterwards, but it's just that getting up part that is so hard. I do like that I feel a bit more energized throughout the day if I run in the early morning, it is so nice to have the run out of the way with rest of the day still ahead of me. I think I just need to start sleeping earlier, but that's hard for me too. I might just have to have it be a New Year's Resolution to sleep early.
Cross training was minimal last week. I only got a BOSU workout which was great workout but I should have done more. Not sure I'll get in much cross training this week as we'll be heading to Utah on Tuesday. I may be able to get in some T25 but we'll see.
I've added 3 more races to my 2016 schedule. There's a great deal in Davis with A Change of Pace Foundation. They are the group that puts on all the local races and right now they have a 2016 Triple Play Holiday discount. If you sign up in December you can save lots on their races. I opted in the 3 half marathons (Davis Stampede half, Lucky Run half, and the Moonlight Run Half marathon) for $125 deal. It's also great because you get the upgraded tech tee included for all half marathons (whereas if you did not do the deal you have to pay to upgrade your shirt). I'm excited to run these races! It will be so nice because they are right in town! :)
As to the weekend, Friday night started with Hubby's department holiday party. It was great meeting people in his department and their families.
Saturday was the Sacramento Santa Run 5K with the fam. It was such a fun run and I'm so proud of the whole family! 6 year old ran the whole thing and 4 year old ran/walked it with Hubby! Everyone had a good time. I'll have a race recap on the blog soon!
Sunday, we started out the morning with watching the new Star Wars move, The Force Awakens. It was the first time the kiddos watched a movie in 3D. They enjoyed it and I thought the movie was awesome!
I did get a nice 7 mile run in the afternoon. It was the longest run I had done in a while and it felt good. I've got to start training for the Davis Stampede in February now that I'm signed up for it. The rest of the day was spent doing errands and packing for our trip to Utah.
That sums up my week. Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week and Merry Christmas!
