With no plans on MLK day, we headed out for a hike at Cosumnes River Preserve in Galt, CA. The place had good reviews online and I heard from a friend that it was a neat place to visit.

Tuvizo Reflective Running Vest and Giveaway
I was provided the opportunity to receive this product without charge in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
With not much time during the day to run since I have 4 year old in the mornings (his preschool is in the afternoon), I had to figure out a way to get my training runs in. I'm not one for waking up early but knew it was the only solution. I started out leaving the house around 6:15am and at that time it is pretty dark. I thought to myself, I need something so I can be seen more easily to feel safer. Funny how things work out because at the time I started these mornings runs, I was contacted by Tuvizo, a company that makes Reflective Vests for high visibility. They asked if I was interested in trying their vest out in exchange for a review and I thought it was perfect timing!

Davis Stampede Half Marathon Training Week 3 and Weekly Wrap 1/4 - 1/10
It has been a great week of running! I did most of my running workouts and even some cross training! I ran with the local running group again and had a great run. I'm pretty happy with how the week turned out.

2015 Year in Hiking Review
Last week I posted my Year in Running Review, and now I am bringing you my 2015 Year In Hiking Review. It was another great year of hiking. Our youngest son (4 year old) is now completely out of the hiking backpack and actually hikes on his own. The hikes take longer with him walking but it is great to give Hubby's back a break. The hikes we do are shorter in length so the boys both do well. Our 6 year old is a pro now. We try to pick hikes that are rewarding (cool views or with rocks because they like climbing) but it does not always happen. We are trying to teach the kids that not all hikes have the awesome views and it's about the experience and getting outside too. Family fun time outside always makes it worth it.

2015 Year in Running Review
Happy New Year! 2015 has been a great year! I had a goal of running 907 miles, 100 more than 2014. According to my Smashrun stats I made it to 1,081 miles this year! I was surprised to see that I made it over 1000 miles because I did not even think I would do that this year. Let's just say it was pretty cool to see those stats! Let's take a look back and see the races I did to help get those miles.
