Monday 1/11 - PiYo Sweat
Tuesday 1/12 - 4.5 mile run
Wednesday 1/13 - 4.8 early miles with a friend
Thursday 1/14 - Strength training workout for runners I found on Pinterest and a 3 mile run
Friday 1/15 - Running rest day. My legs were sore from all of the squats I did on Thursday so I got in a nice walk on the track while 6 year old had soccer.
Saturday 1/16 - Rest day
Sunday 1/17 - 9 mile long run
This week was a decent week of runs and workouts. I got in two cross training days. PiYo one day and some strength training the other. I know I need to do more strength training or at least do different workouts because I found myself really sore the day after. So sore that it was hard to walk. I think it was because of the all squats and other strength exercises but it could also be because I did a run after the strength training, I'm not sure.
Anyway, because of the soreness I opted out of the group run with the local running group on Saturday morning. It was also Hubby's birthday so I made him a nice breakfast that was ready before he came downstairs. He was happy. :)
The rest of the day consisted of the kiddos basketball games. One played late morning and the other after lunch. Speaking of lunch Hubby requested sushi and we checked out a local sushi place, Fuji Sushi Boat. It was ok, but not the best quality salmon which is our favorite. Let's just say Hubby was disappointed (I was too).
However, the boys did great in their basketball games.
After the afternoon game, we headed to our favorite outdoor store REI. Hubby wanted to check out the store in Sacramento. We had fun browsing the store and even bought a sleeping pad for one of the kiddos because we plan on taking them on their first backpacking trip this summer.
After dinner, we sang to Hubby and had Oreo ice cream cake that the kiddos helped make with me.
On Sunday, the day started with my 9 mile long run. I'm glad I rested my legs because they felt a lot better than I thought they would on the run. I enjoyed running to the Arboretum trail from home. It was the perfect distance. My favorite part of the trail is where the Redwoods are.
After the run, we watched the Seahawks vs. Pathers game on tv. I had to root for my home team (Seattle) so it wasn't fun watching the first half. The half ended with the Seahawks 0 Panthers 31. I really wish they didn't do so bad earlier in the game because they did pretty darn good in the second half. They ended up losing 24-31. Oh well. There's always next year.
That sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
