I was provided the opportunity to receive this product without charge in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
With not much time during the day to run since I have 4 year old in the mornings (his preschool is in the afternoon), I had to figure out a way to get my training runs in. I'm not one for waking up early but knew it was the only solution. I started out leaving the house around 6:15am and at that time it is pretty dark. I thought to myself, I need something so I can be seen more easily to feel safer. Funny how things work out because at the time I started these mornings runs, I was contacted by Tuvizo, a company that makes Reflective Vests for high visibility. They asked if I was interested in trying their vest out in exchange for a review and I thought it was perfect timing!
It was great because they sent one for me and two for the kiddos.
The vest is pretty easy to put on. The straps are adjustable so you can make it tighter or loose as you see fit and the buckle is easy to work with for taking it on and off. On my first run I did not have the straps tight enough and found one of them sliding down my shoulder at times. Only thing I had to do was tighten it and afterwards it was good for the rest of my runs.
Love that it is highly reflective in the dark. This is the front view.
Here is the back view.
It is great to see how reflective the vest is. It makes me feel safer to know that cars will be able to see me easily. I had the kiddos try on their vests and had them running around. They were very happy and thought it was cool when I showed them what their vests looked after I took a picture using a flash. No complaints on fit for them. With biking very popular in Davis, these vests will come in handy, especially when they get old enough to bike to school.
Overall, it is a great highly reflective vest. I have been wearing it on all of my morning runs and feel a lot safer with it on. I like that it is lightweight and easily adjustable. I even have Hubby use it since he bikes to work and comes home when it is dark. I highly recommend this vest if you want to be seen in the dark whether it be running or biking. This would also be perfect if I ever do a Ragnar relay race.
