It was another good week of training last week! It was a cutback week so lesser miles which was nice so I could give my legs a bit more rest especially with the miles I'll be putting on in the upcoming weeks. I can't believe the Chicago Marathon is coming up in just 6 more weeks!

As to the weekend, it started Friday night. Hubby and I don't have date nights often, but we figured we would celebrate our 8 year Anniversary alone and without the kiddos (our Anniversary was the 23rd). So we actually got a sitter and enjoyed the evening out. We started out with pre-dinner drinks at City Hall Tavern. They've got a nice patio area where we enjoyed our beer.
Afterwards we headed to the Mustard Seed and enjoyed a delicious dinner and dessert. I had the Scallops on Risotto while Hubby had the Gnocchi and Lobster. So good!! For dessert we had their bread pudding. So delicious! It all hit the spot.
After dinner, we took a walk in the arboretum and just enjoyed the evening before heading back home.
Saturday started out with my 6 miler, then we met up with another family to go kayaking at Lake Natoma. I had not gone kayaking in a long while and it was the kiddos first time. I had fun along with Hubby and & 7 year old, but 5 year old not so much. Hopefully he'll have a better experience next time. What I really would like to try next time is paddleboarding. SUP looks so fun. After kayaking, we had lunch, visited REI, then headed home to relax. Later in the evening we took the kids to movie in the park where they watched Zootopia. It was a cute movie and we all enjoyed it.
Sunday, started out with my 10 mile long run. I ran with a hydration vest for the first time and am very happy that I have something that will carry everything I need for really really long runs. I went with the Ultimate Direction Race vest that I purchased at Running Warehouse and am liking it so far. At first I was worried because it was bouncing a bit, but I cinched it tighter and all was well. Thanks to my sister for finding it and also finding a discount code to add on to the already sale price. Thanks Sherry! :)
The rest of the day was pretty laid back. The kiddos played soccer with the neighborhood kids and then went to the pool to swim. That pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
