It was a pretty good week after last week's Las Vegas Remix Challenge. I took a couple of days off before running again. I was hoping to get some strength training in but the week was pretty busy with dentist appointments, helping at the kiddos bookfair. volunteering in their classes, and a stone soup celebration. Plus 7 year old had half day all week due to parent/teacher conferences. It was a packed week but at least I got some runs in.
Here's a recap of last week's workouts:Monday 11/14 - Rest
Tuesday 11/15 - Rest
Wednesday 11/16 - 2 miles with 7 year old.
Thursday 11/17 - 4.75 miles with a friend.
Friday 11/18 - Rest
Saturday 11/19 - Davis Turkey Trot 5K with 7 year old.
Sunday 11/20 - 11 mile long run with a friend.
Saturday started off with the Davis Turkey Trot 5K with 7 year old. It is so fun running with my oldest son!
He did great and if you saw on my Instagram, he got 3rd in his age group. Recap of the run will be on the blog later! The rest of the day, we relaxed. We played some games with the kids including Monopoly and Slap, a fun trivia game.
I even got a nice nap in and also did some errands to get ready for Thanksgiving.
Sunday started out with a nice long run with a friend. I was planning on only doing around 6 miles but felt great during the run that I ran 11. She's training to do a 2 person relay for the California International Marathon (CIM) and it was fun giving her company on her long run.
Later in the morning, 7 year old had basketball camp. It was fun watching him start playing basketball again.
Afterwards we did some shopping at the Outlets in Vacaville. 7 year old needed some new pants and I was hoping we'd get some good deals there. I got what we needed for him and even got myself a new The North Face coat for me. :)
It's so weird that I don't have any races to train for until Rock'n'Roll San Francisco in March. I guess it is nice to not have to follow a schedule. I think I am going to work on more strength training and also work on speed. We'll see.
What do you do when you don't have races in the near future?
Have a great week!
