It was a great week of running! Got to hang out with my sister most of the week and participated in my first mud run on Sunday. The mud run was so much fun! I'm pretty happy with the runs this week even with having to cut one of the runs short due to traveling and being in L.A for spring break. Even got a hike in with the fam on Saturday so it was busy productive week. :)
Monday 3/27 -
Actual: 30 minute recovery run with my sister before heading off to Los Angeles.
Tuesday 3/28 -
Scheduled: Easy 3-4 miles or can take off if ran on Monday
Actual: Rest day
Wednesday 3/29 -
Scheduled: 5-6 easy with 4 strides
Actual: Awesome 3 mile trail run at Runyon Canyon with my sister. Didn't get the 5 miles with strides in but the trail run felt like 5 miles with the tough hills.
Thursday 3/30 -
Scheduled: 1 mile easy then 6 miles @ 8:35-45 pace
Actual: 1 mile w/u, 6 miles @ 8:35-45. The 6 miles were at (8:46, 8:33, 8:36, 8:34, 8:42, & 8:33). Not sure what happened the first mile but I was close enough. I felt strong the whole time! It's been a while since I've ran without a struggle at these paces so I'm very happy with this run!
Friday 3/31 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles @ recovery pace
Actual: 5 miles with a friend.
Saturday 4/1 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: 13 easy miles. Ran my long run due to the mud run on Sunday. It was nice because I got 5.5 miles with a friend and the rest solo. It's always fun to run some of it with a friend no matter the distance.
Sunday 4/2 -
Scheduled: 13 easy miles
Actual: Russian River Mud run 10K. Look for an upcoming race recap on the blog!
Our time in Los Angeles was fun. We were there Monday-Thursday with Tuesday and Wednesday at Universal Studios. On Monday, we went to the Hollywood walk of fame and also got a tour that took us to this view spot along with a drive along Mulholland Dr. and Beverly Hills. It was pretty neat to see.
Tuesday and Wednesday at Universal Studios was fun! The kiddos had a blast going on the rides and checking out the park. I think just being with their cousins made the trip a memorable one! Although it was tough to get them to listen at times, it was still a fun experience for all.
One of my favorite parts of our trip to L.A was running at Runyon Canyon. Such an awesome trail run with amazing views. I definitely recommend this one if you are ever in the area.
Highlights of the weekend, got in a family hike on Saturday after my long run. We hiked the Lake Clementine trail to the dam and it was a really nice hike. Look out for a blog post on our trip there soon.
Sunday was the Russian River Mud run. Such a fun time with these ladies. It's something I would only do with friends.
We celebrated by getting some beer and eating lunch at Lagunitas brewery.
Have a great week!
