Here's a recap of last week's workouts following Coach Dawn's plan:
Monday 4/3 -
Scheduled: Rest or easy 20-30 minutes. Also fine to do active recovery.
Actual: Rest
Tuesday 4/4 -
Scheduled: 1.5 miles easy, then 6 x 0.5 miles @7:45-50 pace w/ 2 min recoveries then 2 miles easy.
Actual: 1.5 miles easy, then 6 x0.5 miles paces at (7:49, 7:53, 8:01, 7:57, 8:00, 8:04). I was pretty bummed I didn't hit my paces on this one but I know that I worked hard and we can't always have good days. I think I was dehydrated too because I saw the salt on me afterwards. So glad though that my friend Lenora ran the workout with me. She helped push me because I probably would have done even worse had I been alone.
Wednesday 4/5 -
Actual: 4 miles @ recovery pace.
Thursday 4/6 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles easy pace.
Actual: 5 miles with a friend but didn't quite go easy since I wasn't looking at my watch the whole time.
Friday 4/7 -
Scheduled: 1.5 miles easy then 2x3 miles @8:15-8:30 w/ 1 min recovery.
Actual: 1.5 miles easy then 2x3 miles. Mile splits for the first 3 miles were (8:18, 8:28, 8:35). I'm not discouraged on the last mile there because I tried my best and I was running into headwinds and the rain didn't help either. On the second set, my mile splits were (8:17, 8:28, 8:15)! I'm happy that I hit my splits and finished strong!
Saturday 4/8 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest
Sunday 4/9 -
Scheduled: 14 miles. Pace around 8:50-9:10 - slower first 2 miles as you ease in. Last 2 miles @ 8:20-8:30.
Actual: 14 miles. I ran with someone new who is faster and again not always looking at my watch ran faster than I should have and after the 9 miles with her, she peeled off and my mood changed and I just wasn't as motivated. By the time I was coming to the last 2.5 miles my legs just couldn't run fast enough and to make things worse the run ended on the only hill in Davis. 😞I didn't hit my paces those last 2.5 miles but I'm just glad I got it done!
As to the weekend, both boys had their first AYSO spring soccer games. It's pretty neat this season because Hubby is the coach for both kiddos teams. It's so fun watching their games and see Hubby coaching them.
Saturday was a laid back day and it was nice to sleep in. We had been so busy the last couple of weeks, it was so nice to just relax. We did some errands and Hubby even started our garden.
Sunday morning started with my long run. Afterwards the whole fam headed out and we went in search of wildflowers. We found some off of Bear Valley road and on our short hike at Lynch Canyon. Small patches but it was still neat too see. I think it is still early. However, it was a perfect day to be outdoors and spend quality time with the fam!
Have a great week!
