This week was a busy week. The school year is winding down and there are lots of end of year activities and field trips going on. We also celebrated my older son's birthday. I didn't get a long run in this week and no cross training but I ended the week with a personal best in the 5K at the Kaiser Permanente Women's Fitness Festival race.
Here's a recap of last week's workouts:
Monday 5/29 - 4 miles with friends at Yosemite! Such a beautiful place to run!
Tuesday 5/30 - 5.6 miles with the run/walk group. I had not joined them in a while so it was good to see them again and catch up.
Wednesday 5/31 - 4 run/walk miles with 7 year old and a lil speedwork on the track.
Thursday 6/1 - 4.6 morning miles with a friend.
Friday 6/2 - Rest
Saturday 6/3 - Rest
Sunday 6/4 - Kaiser Permanente Women's Fitness Festival 5K. Got a PR!!
What a busy week! I went to my 6 year old's school field trip to the zoo on Wednesday. We had not been to the Sacramento Zoo so it was fun to check out.
Thursday was my eldest son's 8th birthday and he also had his school musical that day. I went two of his performances (one in the morning and another in the evening). He did great! So proud of him.
We took him to his favorite restaurant for dinner (sushi place) and then celebrated with an ice cream cake at home.
Friday after school we had another pool play date. So refreshing on a hot day!
Later in the evening was movie night at the kiddos school. Movie was Moana. We had not seen it before and we all enjoyed it.
Saturday, we took the kids out to play some basketball and a lil soccer. It was a pretty relaxing day.
Later in the evening, I went out with some friends for happy hour and then some dancing. I had the 5K the next morning but I could not resist a night out with friends. It had been so long since I've been out to a club.
Such a fun night with these ladies!! I don't recommend drinking and staying out late before a race, but since it was a 5K I figured it would be ok. :p
I didn't get much sleep but I got through the 5K and even PR'd!!! Look out for the recap in an upcoming blog post. I am a bit behind in my posts but I'm hoping to catch up this week.
Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
