Week 7 of CIM Marathon training is done! Another good week getting all my runs in. I only got in one cross training workout this week but I'm ok with that. It was an active Saturday for the boys with the Coyote Crawl fun run at the boy's school and back to soccer games for 8 year old. Next week will be even busier with two soccer games to go to and my In-laws will be in town.
Monday 9/4 -
Scheduled: Run 3 miles or rest option. Run today and rest Tuesday, or Rest today and do same run Tues.
Actual: I was going to run but the air quality was pretty bad, so I ended up resting.
Tuesday 9/5 -
Scheduled: Run 3 or rest option. Run if rested Monday, rest if ran.
Actual: 3 mile recovery run.
Wednesday 9/6 -
Actual: 15 minutes easy w/ 4 x strides towards end and going into next set. Recover at least 2 minutes. Then 4 x 1 mile 8:20-40 w/2 min rest in between. My mile paces were 8:19, 8:18, 8:28, and 8:18. 10 min easy for a total of 7.2 miles. I didn't expect running that far but it was a cool surprise. It was a tough but good workout! I didn't have time for the drills after the run since I had to get back to take the boys to school but I did get in a good arm and core workout with the girls on the courts.
Thursday 9/7 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles easy
Actual: 5 miles easy
Friday 9/8 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles 9:20-30 pace
Actual: 4 miles @9:20 pace
Saturday 9/9 -
Scheduled: Rest or XT
Actual: Rest
Sunday 9/10 -
Actual: 7 miles easy (first 5 with a friend), 2 miles with 2x30 seconds strides. Paces were at 9:05 & 9:08. Last mile was at 8:53 so I went faster than scheduled but felt good. I need to work on sticking to the paces though because when coach says "Easy there speedy" I should probably listen. :p Do you have a hard time slowing down?
As to the weekend, it was good. Saturday was a busy day. It started out with the boys' school Coyote Crawl fun run. I helped coordinate the recreation part of the event so I was busy all week recruiting volunteers to help with the bouncy houses and coordinate the teachers in the dunk tank. It was a fun event for the school. It was a lot of fun watching the boys run too!
8 year old did awesome in the mile run! He came in first for 3rd graders.
In the afternoon, we went to 8 year old's first soccer game of the season! He did well!
Sunday was a day of relaxing! That pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap. This week's new Guest Host for the Weekly Wrap is Sara from Sara Runs This Town. Please be sure and check out her blog!
