Scheduled: Rock'n'Roll San Jose Half Marathon! Easy 10 minutes with a couple of short pickups prior, 10 minutes after if can fit in. First mile -1.5 ease in a bit around 8:50-9 then pick up the pace.
Actual: Got in 10 minute warm up with some short pickups. Went easy the first mile ~ 8:45 then picked up the pace. Ended up with a 3+ minute PR! :)
The weekend started out with 8 year old's soccer game. He did great!
We then headed to San Jose. The drive was almost 2 hours with some traffic. We stayed at one of the host hotels, the San Jose Marriott. First thing we did was check in and then we headed to the expo.
Afterwards, we went and checked out the San Jose Art Museum. Bank of America has a neat perk of Museums on them on the first Saturday of each month at certain museums. The San Jose art museum is one of those, so we got free admission. It was neat checking out the exhibits.
Then we had dinner at Grande Pizzeria. It was ok, but not great. I wanted to get to bed early, so we headed back to the hotel after dinner and called it a night.
Sunday was of course the race. Woke up early and headed to McCormick & Schmick's at 6:30am since that was where VIP was for the race. Thanks to Rock'n'Blog, I got complimentary VIP for this race. I ate a bagel with peanut butter and hydrated before heading to the #werunsocial meetup, then the race.
For those that didn't see my Instagram post, I came away with a PR with a time of 1:50:28! :) More about the race will be in my recap later this week!
After checking out of our hotel, the boys wanted to get lunch somewhere and Hubby decided on a crepe place, Delicious Crepes Bistro, which was perfect for me because I had already eaten breakfast (VIP area after the race) so a dessert crepe sounded perfect. I ended up having a banana nutella crepe that was delicious (sorry didn't get a pic).
Hubby had researched a Egyptian Museum so we headed there after lunch. It was the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and it was neat to check out. There were some mummies and even a replica of a tomb. It was a neat place to explore and learn!
And that pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap. Have a great week!
