Week 12 of marathon training is done! Had to run indoors one day due to the air quality being bad because of the fires here in Northern California. So sad how so many lost their homes. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by the fires. On a brighter note, I did get my Rock'n'Roll San Jose race recap up on the blog and you can check out how the race went here.
Monday 10/9 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest
Tuesday 10/10 -
Scheduled: 35-40 minutes Easy - Recovery pace
Actual: 43 minute easy run with a friend.
Wednesday 10/11 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles- pace- 9:15-30, 4 x strides after 10-15 minutes
Actual: Got in a treadmill run due to bad air quality. Ran 4.5 miles with 4x strides.
Thursday 10/12 -
Scheduled: Progression 1.5 miles easy, 2 miles 8:50-9, 1 mile 8:40-50, 2 minutes easy,4 x 1 min hard/2 minutes easy, 1 miles easy
Actual: After the warmup, I came in at 9:16, 8:49, 8:40 so I didn’t quite hit the first mile pace but I’m going to blame it on the crazy wind I was running into. Running into a headwind is no joke. My paces for the 1 minute hard were 7:45, 7:22, 7:47, 7:21 so I’m pretty happy with those times considering I don’t think my legs were fully recovered from last weekend’s half marathon. Got in a total of 7 miles!
Friday 10/13 -
Scheduled: Easy 40-45 minutes
Actual: Easy 45 minutes with a friend.
Saturday 10/14 -
Scheduled: Pace- 9:10-20. Last 25 minutes- pace 8:50-9:10
Actual: Pretty much hit the paces except a couple of times but again I’m going to blame it on the wind! It was crazy windy at times so I will consider this run a success!
Sunday 10/15 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest
As to the weekend, the highlights were movie night at the boys school. The movie was Captain Underpants and it was entertaining.
Nothing else real exciting over the weekend. Got my long run on Saturday and also worked. On Sunday, Hubby went hiking with a friend while I hung out with the boys and got some errands/chores done. That pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
