Week 17 is in the books! I can't believe that CIM is two weeks away! I got in all my scheduled runs this week even with Hubby away at a conference. I didn't get a good cross training workout with the girls but I did get some bike rides with the kids and some great runs with my 8 year old!
Here's a recap of what I did last week following Coach Dawn's plan:
Monday 11/13 -
Scheduled: Easy to moderate pace 40-60 minutes.
Actual: 4 miles while the boys biked.
Tuesday 11/14 -
Scheduled: Bike, hike or walk.. something active, but easy effort.
Actual: Short easy bike ride with the boys.
Wednesday 11/15 -
Scheduled: 2 miles easy w/ 3 x strides after 1.5 miles. 4 mile tempo- 7:50-8:05. 2 miles easy
Actual: I wasn’t sure about the tempo because the paces are fast for me for that long a distance. I gave it my best and my mile paces ended up being (7:56, 7:55, 7:59, & 8:07)! I definitely had a hard time that last mile but even though I didn’t hit that last mile pace, seeing these times makes me feel really good as I’ve come a long way in terms of speed and endurance!
Thursday 11/16 -
Scheduled: 4-5 miles recovery run
Actual: 4 mile recovery run with 8 year old.
Friday 11/17 -
Scheduled: 2 miles easy, 4 miles- 8:35-50
Actual: 2 miles easy, 4 miles at (8:34, 8:30, 8:33, 8:32)!
Saturday 11/18 -
Scheduled: Rest
Actual: Rest
Sunday 11/19 -
Scheduled: Long run, 20 min. easy, 2 hours around 9:10, 25 min. easy
Actual: 20 min. easy, 2 hours around 9:10 (was pretty close to 9:10 in my pace for the whole 2 hours), 25 min. easy
As to highlights of the week, it was so nice to have Hubby back. The weekend was pretty chill. I worked on Saturday and also got in a fun short bike ride with the fam.
After my long run on Sunday, we all went to 8 year old's basketball camp and then from there we headed up to Oregon to visit my sister for the week. It's quite the drive, about 9 hours but we made it!
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving with family. Hope everyone has a great week and a happy Thanksgiving! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.
Have a great week!
