Week 2 of training for Shamrock'n is done and it went well! Got in lots of running but I'm not happy with only one cross training workout. I'm hoping to add more core exercises into my routine this coming week. However, it was nice to get a run in a run with the boys twice this week and even a hike on Saturday!
Here's a recap of what I did last week:
Monday 1/8 - Rest
Tuesday 1/9 - w/u, 1 mile assessment, and c/d for a total of 4.7 miles. It was great to run my fastest timed mile with the Fleet Feet Davis Shamrock'n training group.
Wednesday 1/10 - 4.8 miles and a cross training circuit workout with the girls.
Thursday 1/11 - 2 miles with 8 year old.
Friday 1/12 - 5 mile run with a friend.
Saturday 1/13 - Missed the training group long run due to kiddo's basketball game but got in a 6 mile hike with the fam at Empire Mine Historic Park.
Sunday 1/14 - 10 mile long run. Ran 4 with friends, 3 solo, and 3 with the fam!
As to highlights of the weekend, Saturday morning started out with watching 6 year old's first basketball game of the season. He did great!
This winter, it won't be often we'll have much free time on Saturdays due to sports. 8 year old's select soccer games and also basketball games (starts next week), but with the past rain his soccer game was cancelled. We took advantage of the free time and took the fam for a hike at Empire Mine Historic Park. It was a great place to spend family time outdoors and we were lucky enough to see two bears!
Sunday morning was my long run and it was great to break up the run. Started it out with 4 miles with friends, then 3 solo, and 3 with the fam for a total of 10 miles. It was a great way to start the day before heading into work and the run got me over 80k for the Strava Lululemon #4080Challenge.
That pretty much sums up my week! Linking this post up with HoHo Runs and Taking the Long Way Home for their Weekly Wrap.
