Get Outside with Tanri Sunscreen and Lip Balm

Living in NorCal, especially in the Sacramento Valley where it is sunny most of the year, sunscreen is a must. We all know we should protect our skin from harmful ultraviolet rays so we don't get skin cancer. I apply sunscreen on most all my runs and hikes, so when I was given the opportunity to try out Tanri, I was excited to try them out because it was a new brand to me. 

I was sent this neat goody box. It contained sunscreen, lip balm, a cool shirt and a patch.

I've used the sunscreen and lip balm for about 3 weeks on runs, walks, and hikes.

So what do I think of Tanri? 

Things that I like about the sunscreen are it is all natural, and mineral-based.It does not contain oxybenzone which can be a potential hormone disruptor. I like that it is safe for your skin and the environment (reef friendly) and offers broad UVA/UVB protection. It is also water and sweat resistant for 80 minutes. When I use it on my runs it works really well even when I sweat a lot. 

On the last hike we did, it also lasted pretty long. We didn't get into the lake for a while (it was definitely after 2 hours) and I could tell it was still working. Not until after I dipped my legs in the cool refreshing lake, I saw some of the sunscreen come off. Afterwards, I reapplied but it did its job. No sun burn. 

As to what I do not like about the sunscreen, there's only one thing and that it is not as easy to apply as other types of sunscreen. Tanri just isn't so smooth when applying. You have to really rub it in so it takes longer. However it's not greasy, absorbs relatively quickly and dries nicely. I am totally ok with having to take longer putting it on because I know it is better for my skin and for the environment. The lip balm is great too! I got to try the tangerine and citrus mint. Both seem to work well and great flavors.
